Experience It
This work requires no particular beliefs in God or Soul. Our foundation and approach is this: direct experience is the source of your knowing, and that knowing is the guide to your happiness. For this work, I define Soul simply as a warm and elevated experience of clarity, knowingness, and deep peace. Emotions are the senses that help guide you to that experience. Whatever your past experience and belief, just be open to feeling better.
Here is a quick, effective way to manage emotions. When you don’t know how to get control of thoughts and feelings, you can first control the body with the simple breath pattern. Since body and mind are linked, the mind follows the body’s calm lead. It then becomes easier to direct the mind to the images suggested in this Simple Practice to Increase Peace, and there you are, feeling better. Drink some water before you start.
